What happens
Superman, disguised as Clark Kent, travels with Perry White, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen to the Hudson Bay region of northern Canada to visit Sebastian Beauvay at his hunting lodge. Beauvay claims to have seen a headless Indian riding a white horse through the night, and the legend holds that a third sighting means death. Kent and White follow the apparition's trail through the snowy woods, and White is shot. Kent carries him back to the lodge, where Beauvay tends the wound. Later that night the sinister Laffer, carrying a rifle, enters the lodge, and Superman confronts him. The Laffer admits he fired the shot and boasts that he has alibis. This is part 12 of The Adventures of Superman, first heard on 1942-11-10.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
