What happens
Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Perry White travel toward northern Canada after White receives a desperate letter from his old friend Sebastian Beauvay, owner of a hunting lodge in the Hudson Bay region. Before leaving, White nearly dies when a rifle fires at him in a sporting goods shop. Kent follows the gunman, Kilraine, to a fashionable penthouse, where Superman confronts him. Kilraine admits the shooting was ordered by a mysterious, diamond-studded man called the Laffer, who sleeps in an adjoining room. The Laffer appears, mocks Superman and declares him an enemy to the death, then vows to stop the travelers from reaching Canada. The episode is part of The Adventures of Superman radio series; its original air date was October 29, 1942.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
