What happens
Superman, disguised as reporter Clark Kent, investigates a campaign of religious and racial hatred in Metropolis. After a fire on Morton Street, a boy named Danny O'Neill is badly beaten and lies critically injured in hospital. Kent and Perry White plan to use young Jimmy Olsen to infiltrate a local gang and reach the people behind threatening letters aimed at a neighborhood youth center. Meanwhile, Kent learns that a brain surgeon, Dr. Ernest Henley, is needed urgently in Metropolis and must be found in Chicago within two hours. The episode is part three of a serial in The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on April 18, 1946. Lois Lane also appears in the story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
