What happens
Superman searches for Lois Lane, who is held captive by six escaped convicts in the flood-stricken village of Hilltop. Their leader, Harry Doke, has told the rescue plane that the convicts were swept away, and he plans to silence the villagers to hide the robbery of the village bank. Meanwhile, Superman is busy in the city, ferrying sandbags across the river after a footbridge has washed out. In Hilltop, the convicts prepare to build a raft to set the villagers adrift on the flood. A young boy, Jerry Farber, slips away to warn the townspeople, and the villagers flee to hide in an old mine. The episode ends with Jerry riding his pony into the raging river while the convicts fire at him.
