What happens

Superman searches space for the lost planet Apollo, which is being drawn toward the sun and threatens its people. Nearby on Apollo, the tyrant Raz learns that Thane has been found and sends for him, hoping Thane will help save the star. Thane is brought before Raz, who pleads with him to help, even offering his throne. Meanwhile Superman struggles against the sun's rays as he circles it, weakening but pressing on. The episode ends with a catastrophic explosion on Apollo and Superman still half-blinded, with the outcome left unresolved. The Adventures of Superman is a radio serial, and this is part 11 of the story The Disappearance of Clark Kent, first broadcast on November 20, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
