What happens
Superman has been drawn toward the sun while flying back to Earth after rescuing scientist Dr. Thane and his daughter Lalo from the doomed planet Apollo. On Earth, editor Perry White and reporter Jimmy Olsen believe Clark Kent is lost, while Kent himself returns to the Daily Planet, exhausted and confused. Superman meets Dr. Millison, who explains why the planet's atmosphere drained his strength. Then Dr. Millison receives shocking news from the observatory about Apollo's position in space, leaving Superman with a desperate situation. This is the first part of the 1946 Adventures of Superman radio serial, with its original air date of November 18, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
