What happens
Superman arrives on the planet Apollo to warn its inhabitants that their world is falling toward the sun. He wakes on a hill beside a silver forest, unable to move, and is found by two silver-haired men who take him to their ruler. He learns that the water they gave him, called stone water, turns living flesh to stone, and that many giant statues along the road were once living men. Superman struggles to grasp his danger as his strength fails. The story is part three of the radio serial The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on November 8, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
