What happens
Clark Kent has been missing for a week, and his colleagues at the Daily Planet are worried. Dr. John Millison arrives with news: he and astronomer Dr. Bloomfield have found a planet called Apollo, which they believe holds life and is in danger of being pulled into the sun. Millison asks Superman to fly there and attempt a rescue. Superman agrees and takes a passenger with him. The episode ends with Superman setting off into space, and Perry White, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen learning that Millison fears neither of them will return. This is part two of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on November 7, 1946.
Metropolis, the offices of the Daily Planet, and the Mount Arthur Observatory, with the planet Apollo in outer space.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
