What happens
Clark Kent and Superman's allies, Jimmy Olsen and Carl Edwards, try to escape Dead Man's Island, where the madman Boris holds them. Ilana, Boris's sister, has helped them flee, but the motorboat she directed them to is drawn toward the rocks because Boris has switched the powerful electromagnets back on. Jimmy and Edwards are thrown into the water and end up stranded on a sandbar, where a giant clam seizes Edwards by the leg. Superman arrives in time to pry the shells open and free him. Afterward, Kent learns how the boys got out of the tower room, and the group begins to suspect that the giant clams are connected to a secret Boris is trying to hide. This is part five of the 1940 radio serial The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on 2 October 1940.
