What happens
Superman, his memory lost and his strength drained by kryptonite, is held prisoner by George Latimer and Dr. Marsh. Batman and Robin pursue a drunken baseball fan named Punchy, who has been bragging that the Titans cannot win without Bud Smith. They trace his movements through Metropolis lunch wagons and taverns, then turn to a secretive underworld figure called the Bookkeeper for help locating him. Meanwhile, Latimer sends his henchman Gus to silence Punchy before he can talk. This is the twenty-ninth episode of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on June 23, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
