What happens
Perry White and Jimmy Olsen travel to Gainesville after a photograph convinces Jimmy that Bud Smith, a star baseball pitcher, is their missing colleague Clark Kent. At the ballpark, Smith pitches a sensational shutout, and Jimmy and Perry hurry to the players' clubhouse hoping to greet him. The man they meet does not recognize them and insists he is Bud Smith, and the two friends leave disappointed, unsure whether they have found Clark Kent at all. Meanwhile, a tall, thin man who watched the game sends an urgent telegram, and the story follows the chain of events it sets in motion.
