What happens
Superman has been weakened by a piece of Kryptonite and is held prisoner in a deserted barn by the crooked politician George Latimer. Batman and Robin, having lost their plane and searching for the missing hero, come to the old mill where they believe Superman may be held. Latimer has learned from Dr. Marsh, a German scientist, that there may be a way to destroy Superman through starvation. Latimer waits anxiously for Dr. Marsh to explain his findings, and the episode ends with the question of whether the scientist has truly found a quick way to end Superman's life. The Adventures of Superman is a radio series, and this part is the thirteenth installment of the story titled Superman Vs. Kryptonite, first aired on May 30, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
