What happens
Clark Kent and Professor Thorpe are trapped inside the bathysphere on the floor of Octopus Bay, where the air has turned foul. Kent, who can act as Superman, first frees the professor by using the safety chamber, then fights a giant octopus that has wrapped its tentacles around the air line. Thorpe and diver Gleason recover gold from a sunken Spanish galleon, which Thorpe hopes will fund his institute of science. Captain Maddox warns that a hurricane is approaching and urges them to surface. As the storm breaks, the ship's sea anchor tears away and the vessel is driven toward the rocks, leaving Kent to weigh the risk to the men below. This is the fifth part of the serial and the transcript ends on the cliffhanger.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
