What happens
Superman travels to the village of Graves End after reporter Lois Lane is called there by Lee Jenkins, who says a deadly pillar of fire is driving the people from their homes. Kent and Lane are taken to the house of Old Man Smith and his companion Harris, and that night Lois disappears from her locked room. Superman follows a secret passage beneath the house into the open, where he finds the pillar of fire and the two men on a cliff above. The villagers' elder and his men are at the center of the plot, and Superman must act quickly to save Lois and reach the truth before the mine is destroyed.
