What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane arrive in the mountain village of Graves End after Lee Jenkins writes asking for help against mysterious terrors there. Their route is blocked by a wall and by threats from local men, and Clark, who is Superman in disguise, steps in when Lois calls for help with her police whistle. The village elder offers them shelter for the night and dismisses the warnings as the fears of superstitious people. Clark questions him about the leader and the so-called killer of fire, and the elder denies that either exists. Later Lois vanishes from a locked room with barred windows. The episode ends with Superman set to search for her and the mystery unresolved.
