What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane, reporters for the Daily Planet, travel to the isolated mountain town of Graves End after receiving a letter from Lee Jenkins. Jenkins reports disappearances and a strange pillar of fire in the hills, and asks for help. A warning phone call tells the reporters to stay away, and the pair drive out at night to meet Jenkins at a bridge. Before they arrive, they encounter an old man carrying bells, and they find a fuse and bomb planted beneath the bridge. They press on toward the town, where they find the village surrounded by a high wall and a locked gate. This episode of The Adventures of Superman was first broadcast on August 5, 1940.
The mountain region near the isolated town of Graves End, including a bridge five miles outside town and the walled village itself.

Listen for: The warning call from a man who calls himself Harris, and the bomb found under the bridge.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
