What happens
Clark Kent tells the story of Superman's strangest adventure. Jim Olsen, alone in the Daily Planet office, is visited by a tall middle-aged man named Anthar, who claims to come from the planet Utopia in search of Superman. Anthar demonstrates his strength and warns that Utopia is doomed and that his rival Zaram plans to conquer Earth. Jim, still doubting, agrees to travel with Anthar to see Utopia for himself. This is Part 01 of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on April 9, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
