What happens

Clark Kent recounts Superman's strange adventure on the planet Utopia. Jimmy Olsen is persuaded by a visitor named Anthar, who claims to come from Utopia, to travel there with him to verify a story of a doomed world and a dangerous regent planning an invasion of Earth. Anthar introduces a rhyming court jester named Poco, and Jimmy is pressed into a plastic space shell on the Daily Planet roof. Meanwhile Clark Kent returns to the city room and begins questioning the elevator operators about where Jimmy has gone. The part shown ends with the shell rocketing up into the night sky with Jimmy still inside.

The Daily Planet building in the city, its roof and city room, and a space shell bound for the planet Utopia

Characters: Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, Anthar, Poco, Perry White, Beanie

Listen for: Anthar's account of Utopia's doom and the despotic regent Zedam, and Poco's rhyming speech as the space shell lifts off

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
