What happens

Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen investigate after the Metropolis University football team is poisoned, which threatens a will that will award a large sum to a beneficiary if the university fails to raise its required funds. Jimmy sees a cook pouring a strange liquid into the team's milk, but the cook vanishes. Clark learns from the family lawyer that the cook may be a man named George King, and a university employment record gives a different name and a home town well outside the city. Clark and Jimmy and the coach Spike Taylor work through the clues, and Clark later tracks a suspect by train to Sharon Heights, where he confronts him. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Perry White sends a new message that changes Clark's view of the case.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
