What happens
Superman, disguised as the mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent, joins Lois Lane, editor Perry White and Dr. Cameron aboard a multi-depth submarine searching for the lost continent of Atlantis. At a depth of about a mile and a half, a giant octopus seizes the vessel and begins dragging it toward the ocean floor. The passengers are trapped in darkness, with the pressure threatening to crush them. Clark slips away to the compression chamber, and the group sees a red and blue figure struggling with the monster. The submarine then springs a leak, its batteries fail, and the crew faces a dire situation. This episode is part eight of the serial and was broadcast on December 21, 1942.
