What happens
Editor Perry White of the Daily Planet finances an expedition led by the eccentric explorer Dr. Leander Cameron to find the lost continent of Atlantis at the bottom of the Atlantic. Clark Kent and Lois Lane travel in Cameron's multi-depth submarine as it descends a mile below the surface, where the crew sees luminescent fish and then a huge creature. Dr. Cameron tries to escape by rising, but a giant octopus follows the submarine and its tentacles grip the vessel. The crew is trapped in the compression chamber, and Clark Kent notes that Superman could not leave the chamber without endangering the others.
