What happens
Clark Kent, the mild-mannered reporter, is aboard the clipper ship Clara M on a round-the-world cruise, where strange events have been happening. In a violent storm, the ship's anchor breaks loose and crashes against the hull. Captain Hawkins and the crew struggle to secure it, and Teak Barnaby risks his life over the side to lash it. Meanwhile, Superman investigates ashore, questioning a sailor in a waterfront tavern about Captain Hawkins and a legend called the Whistler. The Adventures of Superman is a radio series, and this installment was first broadcast on March 17, 1941.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
