What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen are aboard the Clara M, an old clipper ship, where strange events unsettle the crew. Jimmy hears a mysterious whistling at night and follows it into the rigging, where he is caught and then found unconscious on deck, his hands badly hurt. He insists that someone or something saved him from a fall, but the captain is skeptical. Kent presses Captain Hawkins to acknowledge the strange happenings aboard, and the captain orders the ship searched. Meanwhile, the first mate Barnaby recounts how he lost his leg, and the helmsman is found steering off course, raising questions about what is really happening on the ship.
