What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen investigate the death of Charles Canfield, a wealthy businessman found stabbed on a Metropolis sidewalk. Canfield had resigned from a secret group called the Knights of the White Carnation after its leader, Vincent Kirby, attacked foreign-descended players on a high school basketball team. Inspector Henderson shares what the police have, and the reporters follow a clipping found in Canfield's pockets. Kent attends the state championship game at the armory, where the Metropolis team takes the floor with only one of its regular players. The episode ends with the coach's announcement and the crowd's protest, with the reason for the change still unexplained. This is an installment of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on February 27, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
