What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane, reporters for the Daily Planet, meet Horatio F. Horn, a self-styled detective and telegraph operator from Screen Run, Ohio, who insists he has an important story. Horn claims he decoded a telegram mentioning the atomic scientist Professor Alonzo Sturgeon and a warning of danger. Editor Perry White dismisses him, but Clark and Lois agree to check on the professor. At the scientist's suburban home they find the door open and the study in disarray, as if a violent struggle has taken place. This is an episode of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on July 2, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
