What happens
George Latimer, a crooked state political boss, has a veteran named Sam Robbins falsely accused of a shooting and sent to a jail upstate in a district known for intolerance. Dean Carter, one of Latimer's henchmen, arranges an ambush on the road. Superman, posing as Clark Kent, grows anxious waiting for Sam's arrival at the Grant City Jail and sets out to search the highway for the missing police car. Meanwhile, Sam is taken by a band of masked men into the woods, where one of the mob, Doc, turns against them. Sam and Doc flee through the dark woods toward an old barn, pursued by armed men.
