What happens
Clark Kent investigates a plot against Sam Robbins, a war veteran accused of shooting fellow veteran Joe Martin during a protest against Governor Wheeler. Big George Latimer, the state political boss, has grown anxious that Martin might recover and clear Robbins. Latimer pressures reporter Lippy Williams to run a sensational story in the Metropolis Clarion that paints Robbins as a foreign agitator. Meanwhile, Clark Kent believes the accusations are part of a sinister scheme and hurries off after a new lead. Hundreds of veterans gather at an American Legion post, angered by the newspaper's claims, and prepare to march on the state police barracks. This episode of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on September 10, 1946, is part six of a multi-part story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
