What happens
Superman must decide whether to break the law to help Sam Robbins, a war veteran jailed for shooting his friend Joe Martin during a veterans' demonstration at the state Capitol. Joe lies gravely wounded in Metropolis Hospital and has been calling for Sam, and the doctor believes Sam's presence might save him. Clark Kent pleads with Sergeant Adams to let Sam go to the hospital for an hour, and the sergeant agrees. Meanwhile, political boss George Latimer and Governor Mike Wheeler discuss the demonstration and its effect on the state's job-seeking veterans. The episode is part five of the Adventures of Superman series.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
