What happens
Clark Kent investigates the shooting of Joe Martin, a veteran who was wounded during a protest at the state capital, and the arrest of his friend Sam Robbins. A ballistics test links a gun found in Robbins' home to the bullet removed from Martin. Robbins' mother tells a newspaper that her son rushed home before going to the hospital, which the Clarion presents as damning. Martin, still in a coma, begins asking for Robbins, and Dr. Mitchell says Robbins' presence might help save him. Robbins is in jail, and Kent faces a difficult choice about whether to break the law. This episode of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on September 6, 1946, is part four of a storyline.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
