What happens

Clark Kent visits Metropolis Hospital after Joe Martin, a veteran leading a protest against racial and religious discrimination in state jobs, is shot on the state capitol steps. Joe's brother Beanie, a Daily Planet copy boy, is distraught, and Clark questions Sam Robbins, a fellow veteran who was at the protest. Clark then travels to state police headquarters, where Sergeant Adams explains that his men fired over the crowd's heads. Clark's suspicions grow as the sergeant's ballistics findings are considered. At the hospital, Sergeant Adams reports his conclusion about the bullet, and George Latimer, a political figure, arrives and makes an accusation. The episode is part two of the Adventures of Superman, originally broadcast on 1946-09-04.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
