What happens
Joe Martin, a young veteran and hero of the Okinawa invasion, leads a crowd of returning GIs in protest on the lawn of the state capital, demanding fair treatment in state jobs. His friend Sam Robbins urges calm and argues against storming the building. Inside, Governor Frank Wheeler is pressured by George Latimer, the state's political boss, who plans to pin the trouble on Robbins as a supposed red. Latimer insists the governor hold firm, and the state police are placed on the Capitol steps. The Superman radio series is the source of this episode, which was first broadcast on September 3, 1946. The episode ends with the veterans and the police facing off at the Capitol steps.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
