What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane are drawn into the mystery of a prolonged drought in the Freeville area, where war veterans have taken homesteads. Superman has rescued old telegrapher Abner Sykes from a burning mountain cabin, and Sykes, still weak, begins to explain that the dry spell may be man-made. Clark suspects the rabble-rousing ex-governor Uncle Ed Clayton is behind it, and Sykes has been picking up unusual signals on his shortwave set. The episode is part 13 of The Adventures of Superman, first aired on February 6, 1947, and the story ends on a tense moment as the group prepares to hear what the signals reveal.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
