What happens

In the drought-stricken farm town of Freeville, reporter Lois Lane joins Jerry Barton, a young war veteran, to find a secret meeting in the woods. Clark Kent, meanwhile, searches for the missing telegrapher Abner Sykes. At the clearing, Lois sees a political rally where the speakers attack outsiders and foreigners. Jerry explains that the gathering is backed by Uncle Ed Clayton, a former governor seeking a Senate seat. Armed men in yellow suspenders discover Lois and Jerry, and force them into the clearing. Clark returns to the hotel, learns from Mr. Keeler that Lois left with Jerry, and sets off to find her. The Adventures of Superman series aired on January 31, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
