What happens
In the drought-stricken Freeville area, reporters Lois Lane and Clark Kent of the Metropolis Daily Planet investigate after a booby trap explodes in Lois's hotel room. Clark, who is secretly Superman, shields Lois and is injured in the blast. Their hotel manager, Mr. Keeler, is evasive. Clark sets out to find the telegrapher Abner Sykes, who has left the hospital, and asks Lois to stay at the hotel. Lois instead rides off with Jerry Barton, a war veteran farmer who promises a story. The episode ends with Lois's whereabouts uncertain and Superman pursuing Sykes. The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast January 29, 1947, is an old-time radio serial.
