What happens

Clark Kent travels to Freeville to search for Lois Lane, a Metropolis Daily Planet reporter who vanished while investigating a drought and reports of vandalism by homesteading war veterans. In Freeville he meets editor Fred Leonard and veteran leader Jerry Barton, whose hostile exchange leaves tensions high. Kent searches the area from the air as Superman but finds no sign of Lois. Back in town, he receives a threatening telegram urging him to leave at once, the same kind of warning that was sent to Lois. The episode is part four of the 1947 serial The Adventures of Superman, first aired on January 24, 1947, with Superman's voice and character as heard in the series.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
