What happens
Clark Kent, disguised as a state prison guard, tries to reach the city treasurer Henry Benson before gangsters led by Duke Renard can silence him. Renard and his henchman Curly have seized the drawbridge over the Red River, planning to drop the sheriff's car carrying Benson into the water. The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on August 29, 1941, follows Kent's race against time as he learns the transfer has been moved up to eight o'clock. The story centers on the Daily Planet reporter, Perry White and the gang's scheme to stop Benson from talking.

Listen for: The rattling drawbridge levers and Kent's disguised entrance at the city jail
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
