What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane are sent to Martin City to look into the disappearance of the famous inventor Dr. Robling. Clark, secretly Superman, searches a hotel room registered to a Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith and finds items tied to Robling and his daughter. Lois enters the same room and is caught by a blonde young woman holding a pearl-handled revolver. The woman locks Lois in the room and cuts the telephone line. Superman follows her from the hotel, and a taxi chase ends in a crash. The woman then reaches a tenement flat where Dr. Robling is pressed to sign papers over his voice machine, and his nephew Jack prepares to drug him. This episode of The Adventures of Superman first aired on August 1, 1941.
