What happens
Clark Kent works with three young assistants, Mary Hennig, Jimmy Olsen and Beanie Martin, who have infiltrated the messenger service of a man named Pearly. Pearly runs a branch of a counterfeiting racket, and Mary, who passed counterfeit money and faces prison, hopes to clear herself by uncovering his operations. The trio escape a tense moment in Pearly's office when a boy recognizes Beanie. Pearly then sends the young messengers out to exchange returned theatre and railroad tickets for cash. Afterward, Pearly learns from a newspaper that two Daily Planet reporters were arrested for passing counterfeit money, and he grows suspicious of Mary. Mary and Jimmy head back to the office, unaware of the danger waiting for them.
Metropolis, in and around Pearly's messenger service office, the Daily Planet offices, and a subway train.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
