What happens
Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet, is working with Inspector Henderson of the Metropolis police to track down a counterfeiting gang that is flooding the city with bad money. Mary Henning, a young messenger girl, has been seized by two men, Biff and Herman, and taken away after she phoned Kent from a railroad station. Kent is frustrated that the police could not reach the station in time, and Henderson is pressured by the mayor to round up the gang within forty-eight hours. Mary is questioned by her boss, Mr. Pearly, who suspects her of talking to the police and fires her. Pearly and his men then plan to get rid of her. Henderson decides to raid the messenger service, while Kent argues against it, fearing it will endanger Mary.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
