What happens

Clark Kent, the reporter, finds a frightened boy named Chuck Riggs, whose uncle leads the Clan of the Fiery Cross, a hate group. Chuck admits he phoned Kent about the clan. Kent reveals his identity as Superman to earn Chuck's trust, and together they search for the missing Perry White and Jimmy Olsen. Chuck recalls the clan's hideout and the route to it. Superman follows the directions into the hills, where they find the clearing deserted, with only a half-burned wooden cross left behind. The serial, a Superman radio adventure from 1946, is broadcast in weekday installments, and this episode is sponsored by Kellogg's Pep cereal.

A city and the nearby hills, including a river bend, a broken-down mill, and a clearing in the woods where the Clan of the Fiery Cross meets.

Listen for: Superman's discovery that the clearing is deserted, and the question of where Perry White and Jimmy Olsen have been taken.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
