What happens
Clark Kent and Asa Hatch, a reporter and an elderly scientist, travel to Boulder City in the Buffalo Hills to cover the dedication of a new monument, where Governor Carson is to speak. Pete Flores, a western outlaw, has sworn revenge on the governor and wants Kent and Hatch stopped. At the governor's mansion, the two men are refused entry by his secretary, Keegan, who seems to recognise Hatch but denies it. Hatch becomes convinced that danger threatens the governor that night. The pair slip into the grounds and are seized by police, while a mysterious figure leaps away into the night as midnight approaches.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
