What happens

Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet, follows the swindlers Bartley Pemberton and Joseph Deneen as they pursue the freighter Madison down the coast. Pemberton and Deneen board the ship with a false distress signal and confront Captain Vincent Anderson, demanding a sealed package of papers that his sister Jewel had kept aboard. Captain Anderson refuses to hand them over, and the two men force him down into the hold. Superman, meanwhile, is searching the coast for the boats. The story is part of The Adventures of Superman radio series, but this transcript does not give the original network or lead actors.

A freighter steamship, the Madison, off the Atlantic coast on its way to Charleston, and the nearby powerboat cruiser.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
