What happens

Clark Kent suspects foul play when Lois Lane vanishes on the train to Metropolis. Later she phones the Daily Planet claiming to have uncovered the story of the century and asking editor Perry White to deliver $20,000 to 407 South Street. White goes there with the money, then telephones Kent asking for a second $20,000. Cashier Mr. Darwin is reluctant to release the money, and Kent insists on handling the delivery himself. At the rooming house, Mrs. Walsh, the landlady, receives him, and the story grows stranger as Kent speaks with White by phone. The episode is the third part of the 1942 Adventures of Superman radio serial, first broadcast on March 4, 1942, with the series' regular cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
