What happens
John Francis O'Connell, an attorney, is called to the hospital where Philip Martin lies dying after a fall from a balcony. Martin believes his wife Marilyn and a psychiatrist, Dr. Gregory Cosmo, were responsible, and he dictates a will naming Marilyn as his murderer. O'Connell visits Marilyn, who describes her treatment sessions with Dr. Cosmo, a psychiatrist whose office is furnished with music, an organ and a marble couch. The episode is part of the Strange Wills series, which in this recording is presented by Warren William, and it was originally broadcast on June 15, 1946.
Hollywood-era United States city, a hospital, a lawyer's study, and a psychiatrist's private laboratory.
Characters: John Francis O'Connell, Philip Martin, Marilyn Martin, Dr. Gregory Cosmo
Listen for: Dr. Cosmo's hypnotic organ music and pendulum, and Marilyn's account of his influence over her.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
