What happens

Dr. Pearson arrives in Fall Bridge to substitute for the town's long-serving physician, Dr. McRory, during his vacation. Pearson, a former bellboy and wandering ship's doctor with a dubious past, clashes with the pharmacist Roy Chesley, who is engaged to the schoolteacher Miss Mason. Heard on the Screen Guild Theater, this October 14, 1948 broadcast is adapted from a Harry Connor story, with Bill Lawrence directing the players.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
