What happens

Link Ferris and Fletch Marvin, radio writers for the show Kitty Farmer, have run out of ideas and decide to seek out real people for inspiration. Link wanders into Antone's diner, where waitress Bonnie Porter pays for his meal. He ends up staying with her family, the Porters, who take him in despite their modest means. Link grows close to Bonnie while Fletch takes an interest in her too. The Porters' household is full of quarrels, and an unexpected radio broadcast begins to stir things up. Cary Grant and Linda Darnell fill in for Dick Powell and Joan Leslie in this Screen Guild Theater production, first broadcast on February 7, 1944.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
