What happens

Rems and Bobby, two young New Yorkers, meet when Bobby starts a new job at Martin's mail order company, where her father has worked for sixteen years. Rems, a Spanish interpreter at the firm, begins courting her despite her family's pressure. When Rems is offered a job in the Philippines, Bobby must decide what she wants from their relationship. The story follows the couple through their early months of marriage, as lost jobs and money troubles test their hopes. The Screen Guild Theater broadcast presents the Warner Brothers film Saturday's Children, based on Maxwell Anderson's play, aired on June 2, 1947, and stars John Garfield as Rems, Jane Wyman as Bobby, and Michael Rafetto as Bobby's father.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
