What happens

Ramona returns to the Rancho Moreno after her convent schooling, where her cousin Felipe is in love with her and her aunt Senora Moreno opposes any match. Ramona's bond with Alessandro, an Indian who works for the rancho, grows as he races a horse against Felipe and rides for a doctor to save Felipe after a fall. Felipe's aunt and Ramona's guardian clash over the girl's parentage and her feelings. The broadcast is a radio adaptation of Helen Hunt Jackson's novel Ramona, presented on the Screen Guild Theater with Anne Baxter as Ramona, Joseph Cotton as Alessandro and Reed Hadley as Felipe, broadcast on April 30, 1945.

Southern California in the early 1800s, at the Rancho Moreno and later in the villages of Temecula and the hills beyond.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
