What happens
Three Soviet trade officials, Iranov, Buzhanov and Kopalski, arrive in Paris to sell a set of jewels belonging to Grand Duchess Swana, and check into a luxurious hotel against their government's wishes. Their mission soon runs into trouble when the Duchess's representatives block the sale in court. Commissar Nina Ivanovna Yakushova is sent from Moscow to take charge, and she is unimpressed by the men's lavish living. The episode presents this early part of the story, which is Ninotchka, a comedy starring William Powell and Joan Fontaine, presented on the Screen Guild Theater.
Paris, France, in the spring, including a luxury hotel in the Clarence district and the Eiffel Tower.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
