What happens
Beauregard Bottomly, an unemployed scholar with a brilliant mind, is pulled into a quiz show called Masquerade for Money, hosted by Happy Hogan. Bottomly's knowledge makes him a surprising winner, and his growing prize pot begins to alarm Benbridge Waters, the head of the soap company that sponsors the program. Waters devises a scheme to undermine Bottomly, and Happy Hogan is drawn into the plan. Art Linkletter, Ronald Colman, Audrey Totter, Vincent Price and Barbara Britton star in this Screen Guild Theater broadcast, a comedy from Harry M. Popkin's play, which aired on October 5, 1950.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
